Erista ChMS: 5 Essence of Christian Marriage

5 The essence of marriage in Christian teachings that you need to know - Marriage is the most sacred and holy moment when two people are united by God and cannot be separated, except by death. Therefore, it is important for you to know the essence of marriage in Christian teachings. Because according to the church, marriage is an exclusive relationship between one man and one woman until the two become one flesh.

In the book of Genesis 2:24 it is written, for this reason a man will leave his father and mother, and will be united to his wife: and they will become one flesh.

The one flesh in question is united physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Marriage is also guaranteed through sacred vows and covenant bonds and is meant to last a lifetime.

For this reason, it is very obligatory for the bride and groom to know the essence of marriage in Christian teachings. This is in order to create a marriage according to His will. Here are 5 essences of marriage in Christian teachings that you need to know:

1. Marriage is an Institution Created and Ordained by God for Humans According to Their Needs.

In the book (Genesis 2:18) it is clearly written it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.

From these quotations it is clear that God himself established the institution of marriage and blessed it. Therefore, as husband and wife, it is appropriate to help each other, rely on each other. For that is how God created and ordained in the beginning.

Marriage is the only social institution established by God before the fall of man into sin. Therefore marriage must be respected by everyone. And Allah is the witness of all marriages, whether invited or not. Although the forms and procedures vary in every culture and every generation, the essence remains the same, that marriage is a sacred event, whether the couple admits it or not.

2. Marriage is an Exclusive Relationship Between a Man and a Woman

Through marriage God unites two people as one. In God’s original plan, marriage was between one man and one woman who became one. Since the beginning, Allah has only created two human genders, namely men and women, which, although different in function and reproduction, are equal in degree, dignity and worth.

3. Marriage is the Most Intimate Meeting and Interpersonal Relationship

Marriage is the most mysterious thing, but also serious. Because the two will become one. That is, practically the two of them will go from me and you to us. This union is all-encompassing, united physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

In fact, the Bible says, a man will leave his verse and his mother and be united to his wife (Genesis 2:24). The meaning is clear, that in marriage a man attaches himself to his own wife so that what God has joined together, man cannot separate.

4. Marriage is a Binding Entity

Marriage is a unity born from one agreement. That is the reason church teachings strongly condemn adultery in a marriage.

Marriage is also a sacred relationship between two parties, witnessed by God, very binding, and cannot be canceled. Both parties are willing to promise to live life according to the points of the agreement.

5. Marriage is Permanent and a Commitment of Fidelity for Life

According to the Bible, it is God’s will that marriage be a lifelong commitment. His permanent marriage, Christ clearly and emphatically said, what God has joined together, let no man separate (Matthew 19:6).

So God from the beginning ordained marriage to be a permanent union, ending only when one partner dies. Although marriage is valid for life, it is not eternal. That is, the marriage relationship only occurs during life on earth, but does not continue in eternity.

Because it is so sacred, the church is also selective in giving permission to the bride and groom to get married. For this reason, the bride and groom must attend premarital learning held by the church before actually getting married.

Because if you have attended pre-wedding, the bride and groom can be more open to each other, there will be no awkwardness. This pre-marriage also serves to minimize things that deviate from church teachings, divorce and adultery are one example.

With this premarital learning, it is hoped that it will become a provision for the future bride and groom in navigating the household. The solution for you, to facilitate administrative matters related to marriage, church administrators can take advantage of ChMS, Erista.

Erista has complete features and is quite easy to use. Both by church officials and the congregation itself. Administrators can take advantage of the Group Management feature to schedule church activities, including activities such as pre-wedding for the bride and groom.

This feature is also accompanied by attendance for the congregation that will attend. That way, church officers and administrators can easily carry out sweeps. In addition, a data system that is integrated into one database also makes data collection of church members easier, faster and more efficient.

Not only that, Erista is also developing other features to facilitate church management. Such as marriage registration, or baptism. Thus, administrators no longer bother to cross-check data one by one for each congregation. This is because the congregation will fill in independently through the church management software.
