Erista ChMS: Church Management Software that enables communication within church

The importance of communication in church organisations - Church growth is one of the necessary results of Christ, the Head, and the vision of the church. Making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19a ASV) begins today at the local church, with the pastor as the leader, his co-workers, and members of his spiritual family who must grow before reaching non believers. Church communication is undeniably difficult to understand and nearly impossible to master, but it is an essential skill for all churches to develop in order to thrive.

The Importance of Communication in Church Organizations

Communication is not just a word but also a concept that is variously defined and has no indisputable meaning among researchers in this field. The etymological background makes it easy to explore the term in order to break through its meaning. Thus, communication comes from the Latin word communis which means general with the verb communication which means to share, give or take part for example as taught in the bible study project topic.

Communication is an important component in human life. It is a dynamic process by which people understand and seek to be understood by others. Communication has been at the heart of human dynamism since the beginning of time. Udeze (2015, p.37), emphasises that communication is a necessary process to influence people and events, influence people behaviour, persuade, implement, change, motivate, and lead.

Members of any human society seek to know and understand the problems, proposals, plans and policies made for their own good and the role they are expected to play through communication. Through communication, people solve major social problems that threaten peace, unity and common progress in their societies. Through mutual understanding between superiors and subordinates, effective communication can help any organisation develop team spirit.

People who want to be understood by others must have and use the knowledge, skills, and communication motivation that is appropriate and effective. Lack of effective communication, which results in distorted understanding or total misunderstanding among members of society leads to real social dysfunction.

The following are reasons for the importance of communication in church organisations

The discussion around church communication examines the church from various angles, including member identification, leadership exhaustion and the study of rhetoric. Mastery of communication and diligent practice can make a significant contribution to church growth. Effective communication is an exchange of information, not one way communication. Communicators often receive feedback from receivers, but this is not always the case. It will help in improving communication if the communicator allows feedback.

However, there are effective and ineffective feedback loops. Leadership communication in the church is preferred when the leader has controlled and directed transfer of meaning by which the leader influences a single person, group, organisation, or community. Leaders, of course, direct others through communication to get things done. He is a spokesperson who shares ideas, leaks information, and knowledge, and persuades others to follow him or walk the path that he points out as best for their development or safety.

In addition he also directs, motivates, and inspires others to take action. In order to achieve his goal and complete his assigned mission, he communicates in various ways. However, mastering the three aspects of leadership communication is necessary. There are three types of communication: core, managerial, and corporate.

In addition, the academic literature evaluating the effectiveness of church strategic communications is even more scarce. Strategic communication is defined as the intentional use of communication to achieve its mission by an organisation. Studying the strategic use of church communications offers the potential to provide these unique organisations with practical applications for better communication with their members as well as the possibility of attracting new members.

In the church, communication requires the following: There are two or more parties, An understanding of the methods of communication used by two or more parties, and Resolving conflicts without causing the church to fall apart, focusing on what builds or simply put, all divine communication serves to bring people closer to God.

God had to communicate himself to several people in order to unite people to himself. God then chose to use those to whom he had revealed himself as instruments to reveal himself to others.

Consequently, every elder, deacon, teacher, preacher, coordinator, zone leader, church worker, elderly woman, husband, father, or youth is a tool of communication in the church. When the church has effective communication, it means that the means of communication gradually take on the nature of God. He becomes more one with God when he takes on God's nature.

We must learn to communicate with one another in a way that is pleasing to God when dealing with one another. We all have to learn to communicate, understand and grow with one another. We as communicators, must be careful not to use the media of communication (words, actions, reactions, looks, moods, gestures, fellowship, and prayers) to draw attention to ourselves, our beauty, our accomplishments, or our oratory, but to the cross of Christ, to Christ himself.

Internal and external church growth is necessary for the body of Christ in every denomination at the local, national, and international levels if Christ commandments are to be carried out. There are many ways to make this commission settlement a success. Effective communication, discussed are two techniques that can help the church grow significantly. However, in a local church, for example, it is appropriate to be the coordinator of the implementation of the church growth plan, in this case the pastor.
