Erista ChMS: 5 Tips for Building Good Relations Between Church Congregations

Building good relationships between congregations - A good church is a church where the congregation has a good relationship with God. To build a good relationship with God, the congregation always fellowships with one another, prays, and reads His word.

So what are the tips for building good relationships between congregations? The main key so that we can have a harmonious relationship with others lies in how our relationship with God personally. Personal relationships in the church with the congregation and our relationships with others in the secular world are very different.

If in the secular world, we have good relationships with other people, then other people will be good with us. However, in Christian teachings this is not the case. Even if other people don’t show kindness towards us, we should still repay them with kindness. This is what Jesus taught which is often called love.

Apply Tips for Building Good Relationships Between Congregations

Busyness of work, differences in activity greatly affect one’s personal relationship with the congregation in the church. As a result, it is not uncommon for the fellowship between congregations to become tenuous and not even know each other.

For this reason, recently in churches small groups or regional fellowships can also take the form. The goal is that those who are not covered in large groups can be monitored through these small groups.

In addition, some church activities can be the application of tips on building good relationships between congregations. So what are the tips for building good relationships between congregations?

Making Social Service Events

Harmonious relationships can be created from mutual love. Loving what is meant is not just a mere feeling of sympathy, but also manifested by real action. The act of loving will be realised if someone is willing to give time and attention to others.

It’s not enough, the practical action is, when we see our brother in need, then we spontaneously help him in the form of moral and material. One example is social service. Through this social service activity the church tries to be present in real love for one another.

Social service events can be held to coincide with the church's thematic calendar. Such as Easter, Christmas, and church birthday celebrations. Social service events can also be scheduled spontaneously, such as after natural disasters.

Holding a Prayer Together

Harmonious relationships can also be created from praying for one another. As written in the scriptures in the book of Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am present in the midst of them".

Departing from the quote from the holy verse, the activity of gathering and praying together is a common habit that we do. The church even has a thematic calendar that organises a series of prayers together. Like the time before Easter and Christmas.

We believe by praying together, God will be real present in our midst. In addition to praying together, people can also study the scriptures to meditate on His word. That way, the activities of gathering together become more intimate, both to build relationships with others and to build relationships with God.

Holding a Retreat

Just like gathering and praying together, retreats can also strengthen relationships with fellow believers. Retreats are one of the activities often organised by the church. This is because retreats are activities to strengthen faith, both individually and as a group.

In the Bible, the term retreat has existed since the time of Jesus. If we read in the Bible, Jesus often went alone to the mountainside, desert, to the garden of Gethsemane to spend time in silence and solitude, and pray to God.

The real benefit that is felt by attending a spiritual retreat is expanding and increasing relationships with brothers and sisters in faith. If possible when attending services every Sunday you can only greet one another for a moment, by attending a spiritual retreat, you will be involved in one activity together for quite a long duration. Like teamwork, spiritual retreat activities will certainly strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in faith.

Organizing Blood Donation Activities

Almost the same as social service activities, blood donation activities are also a concrete manifestation of sympathy for others. Donating blood means keeping us from losing our social awareness.

In the verses of Hosea 6:6 and the Gospel of Matthew 9:13, 12:7, the Lord Jesus also emphasised the importance of loving others more than sacrifices and offerings which further emphasises the importance of loving others. Because this is what Christ Jesus definitely did. As Christians, we need to be sensitive to human needs.

With the variety of benefits felt from this, of course these activities can be carried out periodically. To help make a managerial schedule for church activities, church administrators can take advantage of the Erista church management software.

With the Group Management feature owned by Erista, administrators can more easily schedule activities and collect congregation data.

This one-data centralised management system certainly makes it easier for administrators and parishioners who want to participate in every church activity, for example attending spiritual retreats or other activities as the application of tips on building good relationships between congregations.
